You can also connect calendars and contacts through the open standards CalDAV and CardDAV — with Apple Calendar, Thunderbird or DAVx⁵, for example. For mobile devices, ActiveSync is usually the more convenient way.

Calendar (CalDAV)
https://zimbra.mydc.at/dav/<user>/Calendar
So for max.mustermann@musterfirma.at:
https://zimbra.mydc.at/dav/max.mustermann@musterfirma.at/Calendar
The default calendar is always called Calendar — in English, even if your interface is in German. For calendars you created yourself, use their names; avoid spaces and umlauts in them.
Contacts (CardDAV)
https://zimbra.mydc.at/dav/<user>/Contacts
Further contact folders sit below it, e.g. …/Contacts/Suppliers.
Setting up
- macOS and iOS
- Add an account of type CalDAV or CardDAV and choose Advanced. For the server address,
zimbra.mydc.atis usually enough; otherwise use the full address from above. - Thunderbird
- New Calendar → On the Network → format CalDAV, and enter the full address.
- Android
- Android does not come with CalDAV support; DAVx⁵ is widely used.
Email still runs over IMAP. Calendars shared by other people cannot be reached over CalDAV — for those, use ActiveSync or webmail.
If the connection fails
- “Calendar not found” or an empty calendar
- In almost every case you used a German folder name — they are called
CalendarandContacts. - Sign-in is rejected
- The username is the full email address.
- Certificate warning
- The address must be
zimbra.mydc.at.
