Your Managed Backup Storage has a fixed size that you booked — between 1 and 50 TB. This article explains where you see the usage and how to enlarge or reduce the storage.
Viewing the usage
At the very top of the management page you see how much of your storage is in use, in the form … von … belegt (… of … in use), along with a bar showing the fill level in percent. From 80 % the bar turns yellow, from 95 % red.
What counts is your data. With ransomware protection booked, the space of the snapshots is shown separately next to it as Snapshot-Belegung (snapshot usage).
The booked size is a hard limit
When the storage is full, further writes fail — your backups then abort. Keep an eye on the usage and enlarge the storage in good time.
Enlarging the storage
- Open your Managed Backup Storage under My Products & Services.
- Under Actions, click Upgrade/Downgrade Options.
- Set the new size and complete the order.
The increase takes effect immediately and without interruption. If you have booked ransomware protection, it grows with the storage, because it is billed per booked TB.
Reducing the storage
Reducing works the same way, but only if your data in use fits into the new size. Delete what you no longer need first. With ransomware protection, the snapshots still hold deleted data for up to 3 days — plan for that.
