Every email sent to your domain passes through an upstream filter before it reaches your mailbox: IKARUS mail.security, an Austrian service against spam, malware and phishing.
Included in the base package
The filter is part of Managed Zimbra Hosting as soon as the MX record points to mx.mymailwall.com. Outgoing messages are signed with DKIM; this requires the DKIM CNAME in your domain.
The add-on
As an optional add-on you get, per mailbox:
- Spam and malware protection with multi-stage checks
- SPF, DKIM and DMARC evaluation of incoming messages
- Fine-grained settings instead of a fixed default
- Analyses and reports
The ATP Protection tier adds a Sandbox: suspicious attachments are executed and observed before delivery. In addition, you can order S/MIME per mailbox — it does not count as an additional email account.
Ordering
Add it to your initial order, or later via My Products & Services → your Managed Zimbra Hosting → Actions → Upgrade/Downgrade Options. Billing is per mailbox. After the order we set up the assignment and get in touch with you — this step is not fully automatic.
What happens to detected messages
Messages clearly identified as spam or malware do not reach your mailbox. If the assessment is not clear-cut, the message is delivered — it ends up in the Junk or Spam folder.
Check the spam folder regularly. If a message lands there by mistake, move it to your inbox — this improves how future messages from the same sender are classified.
If a message you expect does not arrive
- First check the Junk or Spam folder.
- Ask the sender for the exact sender address, the time and any non-delivery report.
- Get in touch with us and give us this information — we check the log and set up an exception if needed.
